B Corp™ is a global movement and a certification awarded by B Lab, an independent non-profit organization. Certification is granted to companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. The “B” stands for “Benefit for all” and reflects a commitment to serving all stakeholders, not only an institution’s shareholders.

Beyond certification, B Corp™ is a community of more than 10,000 companies across five continents working together to advance a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative business model.

To earn the highly sought-after B Corp™ certification, companies must score at least 80 points on the B Impact™ Assessment (BIA) under standard v1.6 (2025 and earlier). This assessment ensures that the company balances profitability and performance across five key areas: workers, governance, customers, the environment, and community.

Companies must also complete a disclosure questionnaire to confidentially share certain sensitive practices and undergo an independent third-party document audit every three years.

Our Innovative Business Model

B Corp also assesses whether a company’s business model is designed to generate a specific positive impact. These distinctions are called Impact Business Models (IBMs).

Most certified companies earn only one; Intersand earned… TWO!

1) Resource Conservation

2) Innovative Environmental Processes

These distinctions are awarded to companies whose products and processes limit the use of natural resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and incorporate significant, measurable environmental innovations*.

In other words, our impact is not based solely on sound operational practices. It also stems from the very design of our products, which use fewer resources than the average clumping litter products analyzed in the North American market, thanks to premium materials and patented technologies.

*Analyses based on rigorous methodologies: life cycle assessment (ISO 14044:2006), carbon inventory audited in accordance with the GHG Protocol, external analyses by an ISO 9001 laboratory, and an environmental management system inspired by ISO 14001:2015.
